Doing lots of reading. Other than that there's not much new.

OH! I'm moving. And not just to another house. Very excited about it. It'll be good to get out of the winter weather for awhile. My back yard will be the Gulf of Mexico! I'll post a pic when I get there.

Less than a month!

What American accent do you have?
Your Result: The Inland North

You may think you speak "Standard English straight out of the dictionary" but when you step away from the Great Lakes you get asked annoying questions like "Are you from Wisconsin?" or "Are you from Chicago?" Chances are you call carbonated drinks "pop."

The Northeast
The Midland

I'm gonna spend my time like it's going out of style. [Feb. 10th, 2006|09:40 am]
Shepperd
So I haven't wrote here in a while. I never do. Writing about my life never seems to do it justice. I'm more of a talk to you on the phone, or in person kinda guy. But here is a little bit that's going on for my LJ friends.

Busy. I've been extremely busy. I started working for this one cleaning company some time ago, but was only doing one or two accounts for them. However, now I'm doing all they have in the central Kentucky area. It's really great money, and it's a bit of a better schedule than the work I was doing previously. I'm not an all night employee like I had been.

Sleep. Sleep is good. I noticed that I am in so much of a better mood now that I'm getting consistent, solid sleep. I think the irregular sleep schedule I was on before almost turned me into a completely different person. I was always drained, very tempermental and irritable, most importantly, I lost a lot of joy and respect for important things in my life. A ton of people in the congregation have told me how much more personable and friendly I've been acting the last week. They told me they haven't seen me like this since I first moved there in December of '04.

Spirituality. Now that I'm not always drained, I'm finding service much more easier to get out in. There's an elderly sister in my bookstudy group who's been bringing her grandson to some of the meetings. He's very bright, and was answering quite often at the last Watchtower study. So I talked to him when my bookstudy group went out for dinner on Sunday afternoon. He was eager to study, but his father has not been letting him. So the next week I stopped by his house out in the ministry. Now, not only do I have permission to study with the young man, I think the father might accept a study too. We'll know soon enough, I start my first study with the young man tomorrow, in the new Bible Teach book. Who knows, maybe in a couple of months I'll be able to start trying for aux. pioneering again.

Other Stuff. The congregation is most likely going to split. If it does, we may sell the current hall, and use that money to build two different halls in more suitable locations. I know if they do split, I'll be assigned to the East hall. A couple of girls have been coming around lately, Lyndsay and Misty. I went out in service with them on Monday, and we hung out later. They are nice girls, but come across totally desperate, and that's probably the most unnactractive thing about them. It's weird, coz they want you to know they are looking, but they are trying to act like they are out of your league at the same time. Which is a turn-off. I also had a disturbing phone call the other night. A sister that is almost 40 and has a daughter in middle school has been calling me, with no real objective, just trying to have conversations and inviting me everywhere she can think of. I don't know what's up with that, but it makes me uncomfortable.

Ah well, that's enough for now. Anybody wanna reach me, you have my number.

Peace, love, crabs.

Sum 41 - Pieces [Dec. 28th, 2005|10:45 am]

[mood |depresseddepressed]
[music |Sum 41]

"Pieces"

I tried to be perfect

But nothing was worth it

I don't believe it makes me real

I thought it'd be easy

But no one believes me

I meant all the things I said

If you believe it's in my soul

Id say all the words that I know

Just to see if it would show

That I'm trying to let you know

That I'm better off on my own

This place is so empty

My thoughts are so tempting

I don't know how it got so bad

Sometimes it's so crazy

That nothing can save me

But it's the only thing that I have

If you believe it's in my soul

I'd say all the words that I know

Just to see if it would show

That I'm trying to let you know

That I'm better off on my own

On my own

I tried to be perfect

It just wasn't worth it

Nothing could ever be so wrong

It's hard to believe me

It never gets easy

I guess I knew that all along

If you believe it's in my soul

I'd say all the words that I know

Just to see if it would show

That I'm trying to let you know

That I'm better off on my own

[mood |contemplativecontemplative]
[music |Beatles - And I Love Her]

I give her all my love
That’s all I do
And if you saw my love
You’d love her too
I love her

She gives me ev’rything
And tenderly
The kiss my lover brings
She brings to me
And I love her

A love like ours
Could never die
As long as I
Have you near me

Bright are the stars that shine
Dark is the sky
I know this love ,of mine
Will never die
And I love her

Bright are the stars that shine
Dark is the sky
I know this love of mine
Will never die
And I love her

A president is not so much a leader, as a symptom of the nation's state of health.

One need only look at the elected representative to diagnose the disease that afflicts the hearts of the majority. - Kale the Astonishing

mistah W

just so you know:

•I set all-time record for the biggest drop in the history of the stock market.

•I am the first president in decades to execute a federal prisoner.

•In my first year in office I set the all-time record for most days on vacation by any president in US history (tough to beat my dad's, but I did).

•After taking the entire month of August off for vacation, I presided over the worst security failure in US history.

•I set the record for most campaign fund raising trips by any president in US history.

•In my first two years in office over 2 million Americans lost their jobs.

•I cut unemployment benefits for more out-of-work Americans than any other president in US history.

•I set the all-time record for most real estate foreclosures in a 12-month period.

•I appointed more convicted criminals to administration positions than any president in US history.

•I set the record for the fewest press conferences of any president, since the advent of TV.

•I signed more laws and executive orders amending the Constitution than any other US president in history.

•I presided over the biggest energy crises in US history and refused to intervene when corruption was revealed.

•I cut health care benefits for war veterans.

•I set the all-time record for most people worldwide to simultaneously take to the streets to protest me (15 million people), shattering the record for protest against any person in the history of mankind.

•I dissolved more international treaties than any president in US history.

•I've made my presidency the most secretive and unaccountable of any in US history.

•Members of my cabinet are the richest of any administration in US history. (The poorest multimillionaire, Condoleeza Rice, has a Chevron oil tanker named after her.)

•I am the first president in US history to have all 50 states of the Union simultaneously struggle against bankruptcy.

•I presided over the biggest corporate stock market fraud in any market in any country in the history of the world.

•I am the first president in US history to order a US attack AND military occupation of a sovereign nation, and I did so against the will of the United Nations and the vast majority of the international community.

•I have created the largest government department bureaucracy in the history of the United States, called the "Bureau of Homeland Security"(only one letter away from BS).

•I set the all-time record for biggest annual budget spending increases, more than any other president in US history (Ronnie was tough to beat, but I did it!!).

•I am the first president in US history to compel the United Nations remove the US from the Human Rights Commission.

•I am the first president in US history to have the United Nations remove the US from the Elections Monitoring Board.

•I removed more checks and balances, and have the least amount of congressional oversight than any presidential administration in US history.

•I rendered the entire United Nations irrelevant. I withdrew from the World Court of Law.

•I refused to allow inspectors access to US prisoners of war and by default no longer abide by the Geneva Conventions.

•I am the first president in US history to refuse United Nations election inspectors access during the 2002 US elections.

•I am the all-time US (and world) record holder for most corporate campaign donations.

•The biggest lifetime contributor to my campaign, who is also one of my best friends, presided over one of the largest corporate bankruptcy frauds in world history (Kenneth Lay, former CEO of Enron Corporation).

•I spent more money on polls and focus groups than any president in US history.

•I am the first president to run and hide when the US came under attack (and then lied, saying the enemy had the code to Air Force 1)

•I am the first US president to establish a secret shadow government.

•I took the world's sympathy for the US after 9/11, and in less than a year made the US the most resented country in the world (possibly the biggest diplomatic failure in US and world history).

•I am the first US president in history to have a majority of the people of Europe (71%) view my presidency as the biggest threat to world peace and stability.

•I changed US policy to allow convicted criminals to be awarded government contracts.

Yesterday was my 22nd birthday. I'm not sure how that fits in to anything. but anywho, yes, for all you who were wondering, Amy and I are no longer dating. I'm pretty sad over it, and it lead to a very non-happy birthday.

So lonely....... [Mar. 23rd, 2005|11:07 pm]

I'll choose this moment and keep it,
He said to himself, for a vow,
To remember for ever and ever
As if it were always now.
